Donations from community sources are incredibly valuable to our work and pay for vital things which we cannot fund from elsewhere. This flexibility means that we can meet real need as we see it, and can even set up new projects to lever funding from elsewhere.

For instance this year:

  • £5 will provide a couple of birthday cards for isolated people with few friends or family.
  • £10 will buy a communal meal and video rental in a shared accommodation service so that residents sit together regularly, talk about any shared problems and support each other.
  • £25 will equip an arts and crafts session at a local Day Centre, giving people with street based lifestyles an alternative way to spend a day, and providing staff with the perfect tool to build trust and begin to get people to open up.
  • £50 will provide a ‘move on pack’, giving a formerly homeless person a leg up to move away from homelessness and into a home of their own.
  • £100 will be the average maximum grant made to equip a local homeless or vulnerable person who did not ‘tick the right box’ anywhere else to attend a local course or work training.
  • £250 will run Framework’s furniture project for a whole week – providing all running costs so we can collect items of donated furniture and distribute them to people in desperate need.
  • £400 will provide a rent deposit for a vulnerable person to access privately rented accommodation – giving an initial ‘loan’ to someone who could not save up the amount they need otherwise and potentially being repaid back into the scheme may times over.
