Accommodation Services.

What is supported accommodation?

Framework's supported accommodation services include a range of specialist services that provide specific support for people with urgent housing needs, including:

  • older people
  • people with mental health problems and other high support needs
  • people with drug problems
  • peoplel with alcohol problems
  • pregnant women
  • women
  • women with children
  • young people

How does it help?

The aim of each supported accommodation service is to enable people to live independently.  This is done through a  programme of support which addresses the individual reasons that have caused a person to become homeless, and to ensure those same issues don't reaccur in the future.

As well as support around specific problems, each accommodation service works with people to help them develop independent living skills, such as managing money and debt, cooking and maintaining a property.

What is Move-on accommodation?

When people living in temporary supported accomodation are ready to 'move on' to live more independently, they may be able to move into one of Framework's move-on houses.  These houses have no on-site support, however if required a person may be reffered to an appropriate floating support service.

How does it work?

Homelessness applications must be dealt with via the appropriate local authorities who will make refferals on the applicants behalf.  More information is available here: http://www.frameworkha.org/pages/help.html
