If you have a history of offending or you are currently involved with the criminal justice system and you are struggling to keep a roof over your head, Target can give you the support you need, when you need it, to sort out your housing problems.

What is TARGET floating support?

cuppaTarget is a FREE housing-related floating support service for people who have a history of offending or are currently involved with the criminal justice system.

The aim of the service is to support you to sort out your housing problem and give you the skills and knowledge you need to live independently.

‘Floating support’ means that the service Target can offer you is temporary and flexible – one-to-one support is available when you need it, for as long as you need it.

Can TARGET support me?

Are you:

1) living in Nottinghamshire?

2) aged 16 or over?

3) involved with the criminal justice system or do you have a history of offending?

4) having difficulties keeping a roof over your head?

smilingmanIf so, Target can support you. The service is available for single people, couples or families. We have support workers based across Nottinghamshire so support is available to you wherever you live in the county.

If appropriate, the floating support team can refer you to Target’s accommodation service, which provides specialist supported housing for people with a history of offending or are currently involved in the criminal justice system.

Who decides what support I need?

sadwomanYou do! Target will give you one-to-one support – we will work with you to assess what support you need and work out a plan to address the problems you are having.

When your support plan is agreed, you will meet at least once a week at your home – or at an alternative meeting place if necessary – to achieve the goals set in your plan.

This could include:

arrow small   help in finding and applying for accommodation

arrow small   dealing with evictions and possession proceedings

arrow small   dealing with housing applications

arrow small   accessing specialist services

arrow small   making benefit claims

arrow small   budgeting and debt repayment

arrow small   obtaining furniture and setting up a new home

arrow small   dealing with housing officials and private landlords

arrow small   maintaining contact with services such as social services and hospitals

arrow small   accessing education, training or employment opportunities

arrow small   accessing local services (e.g. dentists, GPs, library, leisure centres)

When you and your support worker agree that you no longer need support, it will go to someone else who needs it. But if you feel you need support again in the future, you can just get in touch.
