Target provides specialist supported housing for homeless people who have a history of offending or are currently involved with the criminal justice system.
The service can provide you with a place to live and the specialist support you need to enable you to live independently.
Target’s supported accommodation – both self contained and shared – and its support workers are based at a range of sites across Nottinghamshire. Contact us on Freephone 0800 055 6184
Are you:
1) living in Nottinghamshire?
2) aged 18 or over?
3) involved with the criminal justice system or do you have a history of offending?
4) homeless, being threatened with eviction or facing difficulties finding accommodation?
If so, Target may be able to provide you with accommodation and specialist support. The service is available for single people and couples, including pregnant women.
Please note: Target is not able to provide accommodation for children.
If you are offered somewhere to live in Target supported accommodation, you will need to pay rent.
Your rent charges will be paid for through the benefits system.
If you have a job, you may have to pay a contribution towards your rent. There is a standard charge for utilities (such as gas and electricity) used by you.
With your key worker, you will assess what support you need and work out a plan to address the problems you are having.
The aim of your plan will be to make sure you get the skills and knowledge you need to live independently, as well as support to address your drug or alcohol problem.
Support could include advice around:
dealing with housing applications
help in finding and applying for independent accommodation
developing your daily living skills (cooking, cleaning etc.)
making benefit claims
budgeting and debt repayment
maintaining contact with services such as social services and hospitals
accessing education, training or employment opportunities
accessing local services (e.g. dentists, GPs, library, leisure centres)
Support will not stop when you move out of the supported accommodation service into your own home. Target also has a floating support team that can offer you one-to-one advice in your own home.
