Can TARGET support me?

Are you:

1) living in Nottinghamshire?

2) aged 18 or over?

3) involved with the criminal justice system or do you have a history of offending?

4) homeless, being threatened with eviction or facing difficulties finding accommodation?

woman2If so, Target may be able to provide you with accommodation and specialist support. The service is available for single people and couples, including pregnant women.

Please note: Target is not able to provide accommodation for children.

Do I pay for TARGET accommodation?

man1If you are offered somewhere to live in Target supported accommodation, you will need to pay rent.

Your rent charges will be paid for through the benefits system.

If you have a job, you may have to pay a contribution towards your rent. There is a standard charge for utilities (such as gas and electricity) used by you.

Who decides what support I need?

man2With your key worker, you will assess what support you need and work out a plan to address the problems you are having.

The aim of your plan will be to make sure you get the skills and knowledge you need to live independently, as well as support to address your drug or alcohol problem.

Support could include advice around:

arrow   dealing with housing applications

arrow   help in finding and applying for independent accommodation

arrow   developing your daily living skills (cooking, cleaning etc.)

arrow   making benefit claims

arrow   budgeting and debt repayment

arrow   maintaining contact with services such as social services and hospitals

arrow   accessing education, training or employment opportunities

arrow   accessing local services (e.g. dentists, GPs, library, leisure centres)

Support will not stop when you move out of the supported accommodation service into your own home. Target also has a floating support team that can offer you one-to-one advice in your own home.
