The aim of the research undertaken by Framework is to understand the nature of the problems and difficulties faced by vulnerable people and to enable us to develop the most effective solutions. We want to increase our knowledge about homelessness and accompanying issues such as substance misuse, mental ill-health and criminal justice. We want to use this knowledge to inform the way we work and to test the impact that our services have. Our approach includes learning from the people who use our services, and we will involve service users in undertaking the research with us as interviewers and advisors, where we can.
Framework’s research makes a difference to the lives of our service users, improving the quality of our work and sharing good practice. Wherever possible, feedback is given to service users, staff, external stakeholders, strategy and policy makers and wider audiences through articles in journals and professional publications. We also encourage our staff to undertake research projects and participate as researchers in individual studies. We work closely with the staff and students of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent Universities. We have also collaborated with Sure Start, Nottingham City Council, POW!, and Sheffield University.
